Recipes from the Faire
Dearest Fairees,
This evening the kitchen crew and amazing volunteers would have been running about, making the final push to prepare the dining hall for your arrival of that first dinner to kick off the weekend. I can feel the warmth of the kitchen, smell the amazing food being created, hear the laughter, feel the hugs, and of course, taste the tea.
I am beyond saddened that we cannot be together this weekend. The Faire is something my whole family looks forward to. Being somewhat of an introverted person, the role of food coordinator allows me to 'be in the mix' - to contribute to caring for and nourishing attendees while finding refuge tucked away in the kitchen. It is an honor to have a role in feeding people, to facilitate the coming together of so many wonderful souls to break bread and share knowledge about plants. It brings me great joy to hold space in the heart of the Faire, witnessing old friends reuniting, new friendships beginning, and children hanging around the tea station drinking way too much honey.
Chef Brian shared with me a few of the most popular recipes from last year, and I have put them into a format that you can print if you wish (a pdf version will be available on the website tomorrow). My hope is that you can make one of these recipes this weekend, drawing the healing energy of the Faire into your home.
With love,
Anjela, Brian, and the GLHF Kitchen Crew
