Intentions
We desire to work consciously towards creating a safe space at the Great Lakes Herb Faire for people to spend time in nature, be in a stimulating environment to learn about the plants, and cultivate a healthy community.
We desire a space that is supportive and focused on our love for plant medicine and that cultivates a sense of wonder and respect for nature.
We want to be a space that celebrates many races, ethnicities, and cultures and a space that encourages everyone to celebrate and recover the herbal knowledge that their ancestors knew. We also want to share with one another what we know about the wonder of the plants from our unique traditions and to keep that knowledge preserved by sharing it with each other.
On a practical level we ask that communication and actions to be peaceful, kind, and constructive. Our intention is to create a space that is both welcoming and nourishing to body, mind, and spirit. We hope to foster an environment that is not only educational but healing and healthy for all participants.
Please join us in this intention and help us build a region of herbalists and plant lovers that desire to honor and welcome each other and our unique traditions and to cultivate healing for the earth and for the plants, animals, and peoples of our region and beyond.
We are so glad that you have come and we look forward to an enriching time together. May this be a rejuvenating time and may the weekend help you take back to your community a wealth of knowledge and skills to empower you for the upcoming year with your unique community and expression of practice.
