Lodging & Accommodations

Once the Faire gets going, it takes on a life of its own and for this reason, many attendees prefer to stay on site to enjoy the full experience. It is also easier to attend the evening activities as well as the sunrise activities. We have rustic, dorm style cabins with bunk beds that sleep 6-16. We also have lots of room for camping. For those of you who would like to stay offsite, there are plenty of options for that as well!

Cabin information:
The cabins at Cedar Lake Outdoor center are rustic, and have somewhere between 6-16 beds in them. Bathrooms are nearby but not connected to the cabins. There is no heat but people stay cozy. This is a great way to meet and get to know others from the faire.

Camping Information:
Many people prefer to bring their own accommodations for the Faire. We have plenty of camping space to do so. There will be designated areas to camp with different options for parking. Some camping areas you will be able to park near your tent, other areas closer to the classes you will need to park a bit of a ways from your tent. Those who park near their tents will not be able to drive in and out of the faire grounds so if you plan to come and go, please park in the main parking area. Please do not camp near or on the beach or near the community fire as those are spots for all to enjoy. There are plenty of quiet places to pitch a tent. Camping stoves are allowed.

Vehicle Campers: We can accommodate A FEW SMALL campers (NO HOOK UPS). Please email [email protected] to let us know you prefer to bring your camper and to make sure we still have space for it.  MUST BE 15 FEET OR SMALLER.

Off Site Accommodations: There are a number of local hotels in the area that are close to the Faire.  It is a Michigan football weekend and, assuming  because Michigan won the state championship last year, that many hotels are already sold out, so please reserve as early as possible! We were unable to reserve a block of rooms in Chelsea due to those hotels being sold out but Jackson, Michigan which is the next town to the west, is not that far, and still has plenty of rooms available. We are working on getting a block of rooms for our attendees in Jackson and will up date here as soon as more information is available.

The address of the Herb Faire is 2500 Pierce Rd, Chelsea, MI 48118.  Chelsea is the closest town, followed by Dexter, Ann Arbor and Jackson. There are also some campgrounds nearby.
